A supercomputer-generated model of the airflow around one possible National Aerospace Plane design raveling at 6,500 mph. Calculating the complex flows within a turbulent fluid, like air, is made possible by applying the mathematical rules of the Navier-Stokes equations, a process known as computational fluid dynamics.
