Aircraft
One of WADC's main contributions was to help
research and develop various aircraft.
They would test models of aircraft, help design,
and eventually flight-test the aircraft.
Included in these are foreign aircraft and
captured aircraft from WWII from both the allied
and enemy forces. In addition several WWII
aircraft were modified to serve different
purposes after the war. Several Aircraft
were developed at the WADC, including the B-52
and C-130, two of the workhorses of the Air
Force. The WADC also developed missile
systems and experimental (X-series) aircraft.
Their contributions are highlighted below.
