This report presents results of a concept feasibility and formulation study of Air Cushion Landing Systems for recovery of unmanned aircraft (Remotely Piloted Vehicles). A modified Ryan Model 147G drone or special purpose aircraft was investigated for possible use in a low cost flight test demonstration of air cushion landing gear concepts on an existing unmanned aircraft. Recovery by horizontal landing on an air cushion landing system is compared with recovery with a mid-air recovery system (MARS).
